Softball Recap: Heritage Christian Beats Illinois Lutheran for Their Third Straight Victory

Heritage Christian took a 18-run loss the last time they faced off against Illinois Lutheran, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Defenders narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Chargers 10-8. The victory was familiar territory for the Defenders, who have now won three matches in a row.

Heritage Christian now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Illinois Lutheran, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heritage Christian will square off against Hammond Academy of Science & Tech at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Illinois Lutheran, they will challenge Rich Township at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raptors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.19 runs per game on average), something the Chargers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
