Soccer Recap: Maple Hill Finds Playoff Glory Versus Galway

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Maple Hill had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Galway Golden Eagles, sneaking past 3-2. Given Maple Hill's advantage in MaxPreps' New York soccer rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while Galway are ranked 351st) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Maple Hill is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 31 goals over those six matches. As for Galway, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-8.

Coming up, Maple Hill will take on Schoharie at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Maple Hill will need to watch out since Schoharie have now posted at least four goals in their last four matchups. Galway does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
