Basketball Game Preview: North Clarion Wolves vs. Clarion Area Bobcats

The North Clarion Wolves will head out to take on the Clarion Area Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row dating back to last season, North Clarion turned things around against Union on Tuesday. They pulled ahead with a 47-46 photo finish over the Knights/Damsels.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Clarion Area, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They took down Karns City 47-31 on Tuesday. The Bobcats pushed the score to 38-17 by the end of the third, a deficit the Gremlins cut but never quite recovered from.

Clarion Area's win came from a few key players North Clarion will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Mason Burford, who posted 11 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Smail, who had eight points.

Clarion Area's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for North Clarion, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

North Clarion took a serious blow against Clarion Area in their previous meeting back in January, falling 79-51. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point North Clarion was down 46-26.
