The Antietam Mountaineers's five-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 72-55 win over Kutztown. Antietam's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Antietam's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Julious Williams led the charge by dropping a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Williams scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was AJ Schiefly, who scored 24 points along with six rebounds.
Antietam's victory bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Kutztown, they bumped their record down to 1-2 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Antietam will be home for the holidays to greet Palisades at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Kutztown will be home for the holidays to greet Saucon Valley at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Saucon Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Monday.
