The Vanguard College Prep Lions will head out on the road to take on the Humphreys Able Charter Legacy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Humphreys Able Charter took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Vanguard College Prep, who comes in off a win.

Vanguard College Prep took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Tioga as they made off with a 3-0 victory. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-15, 25-20.

Vanguard College Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jocelyn Torres, who had six aces and one assist. That's the most aces Torres has posted since back in August.

Torres wasn't the only good servers: Vanguard College Prep was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 21 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 12 aces in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Humphreys Able Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to Stockton Christian.

Humphreys Able Charter's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Vanguard College Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-8 record this season.

Everything went Vanguard College Prep's way against Humphreys Able Charter when the teams last played back in September, as Vanguard College Prep made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
