Baseball Recap: Cobleskill-Richmondville Wins Going Away Against Berne-Knox-Westerlo

Cobleskill-Richmondville got themselves on the board against Berne-Knox-Westerlo on Monday, but Berne-Knox-Westerlo never followed suit. They put the hurt on Berne-Knox-Westerlo with a sharp 11-0 win.

Brody Becker made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Simon O'Neil and Alex Hertzler did most of the damage at the plate: O'Neil went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Hertzler got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two runs gave O'Neil a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aiden Carr, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Cobleskill-Richmondville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Berne-Knox-Westerlo only posted an OBP of .111.

Cobleskill-Richmondville now has a winning record of 1-0-1. As for Berne-Knox-Westerlo, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6-1 record this season.
