Greene County had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 34-27 victory over the East Central Hornets. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 17-7 win the Hornets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2018.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Greene County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gage Stinson, who threw for 195 yards and three TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes. The Wildcats' leading receiver Jase Mathews was Stinson's top target yet again, picking up 87 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 57 yards.

Coming up, Greene County will square off against Perry Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for East Central, they will face off against St. Martin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
