Newtown has gone a perfect 8-0 against Weston recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Nighthawks will take on the Trojans at 4:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Newtown is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Connecticut's top teams: Masuk, who was ranked fourth at the time (Newtown was ranked 19th). The Nighthawks came up short against the Panthers on Sunday, falling 7-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Nighthawks have suffered since May 3, 2024.

Meanwhile, Sunday just wasn't the day for Weston's offense. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 21-0 to New Milford, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Trojans just can't catch a break and have now endured seven defeats in a row.

Newtown moved to 8-5-1 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Weston, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-18.

Newtown took their victory against Weston when the teams last played back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 24-0 score. Do the Nighthawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
