Archie Williams' win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was August Block, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two runs gave Block a new career-high. Solly Ojalvo also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Analy's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They came up short against Novato, falling 13-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Tigers have suffered since March 11th.
Analy also got a good showing from Logan Radovich, who tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, Emerson Johnston and Hunter Thomas stepped up to the plate in a big way. Johnston scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Thomas scored a run while going 2-for-4. Donnie Rinkor was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Archie Williams' victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-7. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Analy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.
Archie Williams came out on top in a nail-biter against Analy in their previous matchup back in May of 2017, sneaking past 1-0. Will the Peregrine Falcons repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
