Basketball Recap: Bishop Canevin Comes Up Short

Bishop Canevin lost against Moon Area back in December of 2017 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Bishop Canevin Crusaders lost to the Moon Area Tigers at home by a 59-44 margin. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 353rd, while the Tigers are ranked 51st).

Bishop Canevin has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.4 points per game. As for Moon Area, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

Bishop Canevin will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against North Allegheny at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Moon Area and Worthington Christian will round out the year against one another at at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Moon Area is facing Worthington Christian at the right time seeing as Worthington Christian is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
