Recap: La Salle Academy Rams vs. Cranston West Falcons
If the La Salle Academy Rams were feeling good off their 70-45 takedown of the Juanita Sanchez Complex Cavaliers last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. La Salle Academy fell 48-39 to Cranston West on Tuesday. La Salle Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Cranston West apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.
Cranston West got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Olivia Tedeschi-Moran out in front who scored 13 points along with three steals. Tedeschi-Moran is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Maia Riccio, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds.
La Salle Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-1. As for Cranston West, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.
La Salle Academy will be home for the holidays to greet St. Raphael Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Raphael Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Cranston West, they will head out on the road to face off against Portsmouth at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Portsmouth focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday.
