The Alisal Trojans are taking a road trip to challenge the Pacific Grove Breakers at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Alisal made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Monte Vista Christian, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Alisal was the clear victors by a 17-7 margin over Monte Vista Christian on Tuesday.
Nevaeh Lopez made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off eight hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Alisal got a massive performance out of Jasmine Estrada, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. What's more, Estrada posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Aaliyah Ruiz was another key player, scoring four runs while going 2-for-5.
Alisal hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Monte Vista Christian struck out six times.
Meanwhile, Pacific Grove beat Palma 8-4 on Tuesday.
Savannah Hardy was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Lilly Gaona also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Alisal's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Pacific Grove, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Alisal has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Pacific Grove struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Alisal skirted past Pacific Grove 7-6 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Will Alisal repeat their success, or does Pacific Grove have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
