Softball Recap: Ashton-Franklin Center Comes Up Short

Ashton-Franklin Center was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against the Milledgeville Missiles, falling 9-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Raiders of the 12-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Ashton-Franklin Center saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reese Polk, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. Another was Natalee Vanatta, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Ashton-Franklin Center's loss dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Milledgeville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Milledgeville beat Ashton-Franklin Center by a score of 13-1 on Thursday.
