Basketball Game Preview: Blue Hill Bobcats vs. Heartland Lutheran Red Hornets

The Blue Hill Bobcats are taking a road trip to face off against the Heartland Lutheran Red Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Blue Hill lost to Deshler at home by a 64-50 margin. The Bobcats haven't had much luck with the Dragons recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 66-38, which was the final score in Heartland Lutheran's tilt against Fullerton last Saturday. While the Red Hornets didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Warriors 14-10 in the first quarter.

Blue Hill will need to focus on slowing down Xander Rivera, one of several Heartland Lutheran players who made an impact when they last played. He posted eight points. Rivera is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Colton Zehendner, who scored seven points and seven boards.

Heartland Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Blue Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-13.

Everything came up roses for Blue Hill against Heartland Lutheran in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 51-21 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Blue Hill since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
