Basketball Recap: Riverwood Comes Up Short

Riverwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 42-16 to the Sequoyah Chiefs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 73-33 back in December of 2024.

Riverwood's defeat dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Sequoyah, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-10.

Riverwood and Sequoyah could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. Riverwood (ranked 331st) will meet Woodstock (ranked 140th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Sequoyah will challenge River Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 89 places (90 vs. 1).
