Volleyball Recap: St. Joseph Cadets vs. Staples Wreckers
St. Joseph was the 3-1 winner over Staples when they last played one another back in October of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The St. Joseph Cadets took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Staples Wreckers on Friday. The Cadets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-14, 22-25, 25-17.
St. Joseph's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kelli Ennis, who had 14 kills, nine digs, and two aces. Ennis is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in the last ten games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Pason, who had 28 assists.
St. Joseph's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Staples, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-8 record.
St. Joseph will square off against Danbury at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Danbury is coming into the contest with five straight losses on the road, meaning St. Joseph will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. Staples does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
