Basketball Game Preview: Eastside Rams vs. North Marion Colts

Eastside and North Marion are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Eastside Rams will face off against the North Marion Colts on Thursday.

Last Saturday, Eastside beat Fort White 53-43. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and North Marion had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past Lake Weir 48-22 on Tuesday. Given the Colts' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 275th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 553rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

North Marion's win came from a few key players Eastside will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was JAMEYA BROWN, who went 9 for 15 on her way to 20 points and five assists. That's the most assists she has posted since back in December of 2024. JERMEA JACKSON was another key player, putting up seven points and 11 rebounds.

The victory got Eastside back to even at 10-10. As for North Marion, the win got them back to even at 13-13.

Everything came up roses for Eastside against North Marion in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, as the team secured a 56-10 victory. Will Eastside repeat their success, or does North Marion have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
