Don Bosco Prep and St. Joseph Regional are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2017, but not for long. The Ironmen will take on the Green Knights at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Don Bosco Prep will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
Don Bosco Prep is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Jersey's top teams: DePaul Catholic, who was ranked eighth at the time (Don Bosco Prep was ranked first). The Ironmen took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 47-15 win over the Spartans. The Ironmen's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Don Bosco Prep can attribute much of their success to Isaiah Alvarez, who picked up 158 receiving yards and two TDs, and Ca'si Thomas, who rushed for 60 yards and a pair of scores. Those two receiving touchdowns gave Alvarez a new career-high.
Another reason for the win was Don Bosco Prep's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Mikahi Allen and Gino Greco, who each picked up one sack apiece.
Meanwhile, St. Joseph Regional's game last Saturday was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 29-28 to St. Peter's Prep. Even though they lost, the Green Knights' still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 26 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Don Bosco Prep will have to keep a close watch on Kyshawn Bryant and Stalin Knowlden, a pair of players who had a big impact on St. Joseph Regional's prior game. Bryant rushed for 29 yards and three touchdowns, while Knowlden picked up 109 receiving yards. Knowlden was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 56 yards.
Having lost for the first time this season, St. Joseph Regional fell to 4-1. As for Don Bosco Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.
Don Bosco Prep beat St. Joseph Regional 35-28 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Ironmen since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
