Recap: Crawford Colts vs. Santana Sultans
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Crawford Colts, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 35-14 walloping at the hands of Santana on Friday. Crawford's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Leading Santana to victory were Jayden Goldman and Trent Taylor. Goldman threw for 153 yards and four touchdowns, while Taylor picked up 125 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Taylor was no stranger to the big play, connecting with a big catch that went for 60 yards. Michael Valenzuela got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Another reason for the win was Santana's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for eight sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Angel Borja and Jake Galbreath who racked up five sacks between them.
Crawford's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Santana, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-6.
Crawford does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Santana will take on Mount Miguel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mount Miguel is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
