Baseball Recap: Bayshore Takes a Loss

After flying high against Gibbs last Thursday, Bayshore came back down to earth. The Bruins came up short against the Manatee Hurricanes on Saturday, falling 12-1. The Bruins have struggled against the Hurricanes recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Henrique Perdomo was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played.

Bayshore's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Manatee, their victory bumped their record up to 14-8.

Bayshore and Manatee could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Bruins will square off against Seminole at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (471 vs. 140). Meanwhile, Manatee (ranked 179th) will meet Alcoa (ranked 27th) at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
