Soccer Recap: Geneva Takes a Loss

After flying high against Glenbard East last Thursday, Geneva came back down to earth. The Vikings fell just short of the Minooka Indians by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Geneva can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 114th, while Minooka are ranked 23rd).

Geneva now has a losing record of 4-5-3. As for Minooka, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Geneva will venture away from home to take on Naperville Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Naperville Central will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Geneva surely won't give up without a fight. As for Minooka, they will square off against Plainfield East at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
