Softball Game Preview: Warren Warriors vs. Hardin Hornets

The Warren Warriors will square off against the Hardin Hornets at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Warren and four for Hardin.

Friday just wasn't the day for Warren's offense. They lost 17-0 to Orangefield on Friday.

Meanwhile, Hardin fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Kountze on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 7-6.

Kaitlyn Key stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaydin Brown, who scored a run and stole Four bases. while getting on base in two of her five plate appearances.

Hardin's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7-1. As for Warren, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Warren took their victory against Hardin in their previous meeting back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 26-15. Will Warren repeat their success, or does Hardin have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
