Esko barely beat Hermantown the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eskomos' defense stepped up to hand the Hawks a 3-0 shutout on Thursday. Esko's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four matches.

Esko's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Hermantown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2-2.

Esko and Hermantown should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings. The Eskomos (ranked 18th) will meet Two Harbors (ranked 99th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
