Baseball Recap: Sierra Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Sierra won the last time they faced Weston Ranch and things went their way on Monday too. The Timberwolves came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 4-1.

Anthony Chapman Jr. and Cole Martin dominated on the mound. Chapman Jr. tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit, while Martin pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. The dominant performance also gave Martin a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Josh Graves, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Ricardo Anaya, who got no hits from his an at bat.

Sierra's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-11. As for Weston Ranch, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-8.

Looking ahead, Sierra will square off against Linden at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Weston Ranch, they will face off against Stagg at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Delta Kings have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season.
