Baseball Recap: Legacy Charter Has No Trouble Against Central Florida Christian Academy

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Legacy Charter walked away with it. Everything went their way against Central Florida Christian Academy on Monday as they made off with a 13-4 win. Considering Legacy Charter has won six games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Marcus Robles tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Jake Threadgill was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. He has become a key player for Legacy Charter: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Lucas Pena, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Legacy Charter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .525. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .525 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Legacy Charter's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Central Florida Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-9.

Looking ahead, Legacy Charter will take on Orangewood Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Central Florida Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
