Baseball Recap: Frontier Comes Up Short

After flying high against Belpre on Thursday, Frontier came back down to earth. The Cougars fell just short of the Caldwell Redskins by a score of 9-7 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Cougars have suffered since April 9th.

Austyn Kephart was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Hunter Ruble was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Frontier's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Caldwell, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-9.

Coming up, Frontier will host Fort Frye at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cadets' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Caldwell, they are taking a road trip to face off against Meadowbrook at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
