Softball Recap: St. Bernard's Comes Up Short

St. Bernard had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 3-10 to make it four. They came up short against the Hoopa Valley Warriors, falling 12-5. The game snapped a strange streak: the last three times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Chezney Sundquist made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Brittyn Ikeya, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

As for Hoopa Valley, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-5. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

On Hoopa Valley's side, Tylie Mckinnon was excellent, going 4-for-6 with two doubles. Those four hits gave Mckinnon a new career-high. Rikki Lipscomb was another key player, going 4-for-6 with one double.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Hoopa Valley beat St. Bernard's by a score of 16-15 later that day.
