Darlington is 1-9 against South Florence since September of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Falcons will face off against the Bruins at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.
On Tuesday, Darlington got the win against Lakewood by a conclusive 3-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Darlington was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-12, 25-14.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for South Florence, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Everything went their way against Latta on Wednesday as they made off with a 3-0 win.
South Florence not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Latta between 14 and 16 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-14, 25-16.
Darlington better keep an eye on Hailey McManus. She was instrumental in South Florence's win, getting six digs and four aces. What's more, McManus racked up 27 assists, the most she's had over her last six matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Baylor Gregg, who had six digs and three aces.
Darlington's record now sits at 5-6. As for South Florence, their record is now 8-12-1.
Darlington came up short against South Florence in their previous matchup back in September, falling 3-1. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
