Soccer Recap: Pace Comes Up Short

Pace lost against Lopez back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pace Vikings came up short against the Lopez Lobos, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 571st, while the Lobos are ranked 23rd).

This is the second loss in a row for Pace and nudges their season record down to 1-6. As for Lopez, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That somehow still isn't as good as their 15-1 record this season.

Pace will square off against Donna at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pace is facing Donna at the right time seeing as Donna is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Lopez, they will host Weslaco East at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Weslaco East has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with five straight losses, while Lopez will come in with three straight wins.
