Softball Recap: Breese Central Comes Up Short

After soaring to 15 runs the game before, Breese Central was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Bud Musketeers. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 8-3 to the Musketeers when the teams met back in April of 2017, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Taylor Trame was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run. Kate Johnson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Breese Central now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Red Bud, the win keeps they at an undefeated 4-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Breese Central will welcome Triad at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Breese Central's pitchers better be ready for this one: Triad has averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season. As for Red Bud, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Granite City at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
