Football Recap: Conner Plunkett and Holden Mulvey Lead the Defense for Rice Memorial Win

Rice Memorial won the last time they faced Spaulding and things went their way on Saturday too. The Green Knights blew past the Crimson Tide 26-6. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 20-0.

Griffin Seitz went supernova, rushing for 146 yards and two TDs while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. Jack Tyson was another key player, throwing for 109 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Rice Memorial didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Conner Plunkett and Holden Mulvey.

The win made it two in a row for Rice Memorial and bumps their season record up to 2-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.0 points over those games. As for Spaulding, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 2-1.

Looking ahead, Rice Memorial will be playing in front of their home fans against Mount Anthony at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Spaulding, they will venture away from home to square off against Mill River at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
