Football Recap: Antonian Prep Takes a Loss

Antonian Prep was the 38-28 winner over Concordia Lutheran when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Apaches fell just short of the Crusaders by a score of 40-38 on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (35), the Apaches still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why Antonian Prep lost, don't look at Rogan Parson. Despite the final result, he threw for 431 yards and four TDs, and also rushed for 43 yards and one score. Parson's passing game has become a key predictor of the Apaches' success: the team is 3-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 2-3 otherwise. A healthy portion of Parson's aerial production (104 yards to be exact) went to Topper Sterling.

Antonian Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Concordia Lutheran, their record is now 7-2.

Antonian Prep didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 53-21 victory against Central Catholic on the 7th. As for Concordia Lutheran, they have also already played their next game, a 29-28 loss against St. Michael's on the 7th.
