Recap: Madison Patriots vs. Draughn Wildcats
The Madison Patriots waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Draughn by a score of 60-53. For Madison, this counts as revenge for the 79-66 defeat Draughn walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Madison was led to victory by Jaxon Dillingham and Gavin Gault. Dillingham dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds, while Gault scored 33 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gault has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Eighmey, who scored four points along with 13 rebounds and three blocks.
The victory got Madison back to even at 7-7. As for Draughn, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Madison will take on Mountain Heritage at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Mountain Heritage is ranked 477th, while Madison is ranked 470th). Draughn won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Rosman at 8:00 p.m. on January 12th. Rosman is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
