Softball Game Preview: Anderson-Shiro Fighting Owls vs. Coldspring-Oakhurst Trojans

For the second straight game, Anderson-Shiro will face off against Coldspring-Oakhurst. Anderson-Shiro will look to defend their home field on Friday against Coldspring-Oakhurst at 6:00 p.m.

Anderson-Shiro fell victim to Coldspring-Oakhurst and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Trojans, falling 6-0. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Fighting Owls' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

For Coldspring-Oakhurst's part, not much got past Trinity Rosales, who gave up just four hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Anderson-Shiro off the board. With that strong performance, Rosales is now averaging an impressive 5 strikeouts per game.

At the plate, Jasper Williams was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Ashney Minor was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Coldspring-Oakhurst was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win was the third in a row for Coldspring-Oakhurst, bringing their record up to 14-6. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Anderson-Shiro, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-4.
