Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Troy couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Franklin Lions on Thursday, falling 11-1. The Trojans' defeat signaled the end of their 11-game winning streak.

Troy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Melanie Zapata, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Troy's loss dropped their record down to 23-5. As for Franklin, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 23 of their last 25 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-4-2 record this season.

While Troy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
