Preview: Lockwood Tigers vs. Greenfield Wildcats
Lockwood is 8-2 against Greenfield since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Lockwood Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Greenfield Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lockwood has three straight wins, Greenfield has 13 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Monday, Lockwood humbled Jefferson Independent Day with a 59-19 victory. With Lockwood ahead 46-5 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Meanwhile, Greenfield had to suffer through a rough 77-37 loss at the hands of Ash Grove. While losing is never fun, Greenfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 477th, while Ash Grove is ranked 180th).
Lockwood's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Greenfield, they bumped their record down to 0-8 with that loss, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Lockwood against Greenfield in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 60-23 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lockwood since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
