Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Cayenne Ceman and Brynn Barry Lead Mira Costa to Victory

Mira Costa won the last time they faced Torrey Pines and things went their way on Friday too. The Mustangs had just enough and edged out the Falcons 3-2.

Mira Costa got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 31-29, 25-21, 23-25, 20-25, 15-12.

Leading Mira Costa to victory were Brynn Barry and Cayenne Ceman. Barry had 18 digs and two assists, while Ceman had six digs and two blocks. Those 18 digs gave Barry a new career-high. Reese Stinger was another key player, getting seven digs and two aces.

Mira Costa's record now sits at 5-3. As for Torrey Pines, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mira Costa will look to takes advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they takes on Harvard-Westlake at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Torrey Pines, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on San Dieguito Academy at 6:00 p.m. on September 2.
