Softball Recap: Athens Drive Takes a Loss

Athens Drive was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Jordan Falcons, falling 13-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Jaguars of the 8-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2021.

Cora Driscoll made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-3. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

Athens Drive's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Jordan, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Athens Drive Jaguars challenge Chapel Hill Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jordan, they will head out to take on North Raleigh Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Jordan is facing North Raleigh Christian Academy at the right time seeing as North Raleigh Christian Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
