Newton-Conover had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let the Lexington Yellowjackets get on the board and left with a 5-0 win on Tuesday. Considering Newton-Conover have won 12 contests by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Lexington with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Vanesa Villa (2), Ingrid Garcia, Stella Phillips, and Allison Rangel.

The victory (which was Newton-Conover's seventh in a row) raised their record to 17-5-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those seven matchups. As for Lexington, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9-2.

Coming up, Newton-Conover will challenge North Surry on Thursday. North Surry will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Newton-Conover surely won't give up without a fight. Lexington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
