Basketball Recap: Brighton Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Brighton had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Open Door Christian Academy Conquerors by a score of 47-36. The Bengals haven't had any issues with the Conquerors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Brighton was led to victory by Reid Williams and Davis Wolfe. Williams dropped a double-double with 18 points and 16 rebounds, while Wolfe posted 17 points and eight boards. Those 16 rebounds gave Williams a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Oliver Doyle, who had two points and eight boards.

Despite the loss, Open Door Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Landon Osborne, who went 5-for-12 on his way to 13 points and four steals. Levi Silas was another key player, putting up seven points.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brighton will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Shreveport HomeSchool Sports at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Open Door Christian Academy, they will take on Mount Olive Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
