Basketball Game Preview: Dyer County Choctaws vs. St. Benedict at Auburndale Eagles + Official Tickets

The Dyer County Choctaws will take on the St. Benedict at Auburndale Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Dyer County will be strutting in after a win while St. Benedict at Auburndale will be coming in after a defeat.

Dyer County hadn't beaten Brighton on the road since February 7, 2020 but that history sure didn't bother them on Monday. The Choctaws were the clear victors by a 69-44 margin over the Cardinals. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Choctaws have posted against the Cardinals since January 17, 2020.

Meanwhile, St. Benedict at Auburndale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by Fayette Ware and fell 73-43.

Dyer County has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 67.5 points this season. As for St. Benedict at Auburndale, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Dyer County beat St. Benedict at Auburndale 67-59 in their previous meeting back in February of 2017. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Choctaws since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
