Basketball Recap: First Coast Starts Season with Defeat at Home

First Coast unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 81-71 to the Ribault Trojans on Tuesday. The Buccaneers have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Ribault's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ian Beaufort, who posted 21 points. Zion Hall was another key player, shooting 55% from the field on his way to 15 points.

Ribault's win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Coming up, First Coast will face off against Bishop Kenny at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Buccaneers will need to watch out since the Crusaders have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Ribault, they will challenge Orange Park at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
