Soccer Game Preview: Panther Creek vs. Apex

The Panther Creek Catamounts will head out to take on the Apex Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Panther Creek has given up an average of 3.1 goals per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Panther Creek came up short against Green Level on Monday, falling 8-2. Panther Creek have struggled against Green Level recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Julia Potter wasn't going to let Green Level walk away unscathed as she scored both of Panther Creek's goals, bringing her season total up to three goals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Apex). They never let Cary get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory on Monday. With that win, Apex brought their scoring average up to 2.7 goals per game.

Apex has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those five matches. As for Panther Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Panther Creek suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Apex in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Catamounts avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
