Quitman barely beat Mt. Vernon-Enola the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Quitman Bulldogs' pitchers stepped up to hand the Mt. Vernon-Enola Warhawks a 12-0 shutout on Tuesday. That 12 run margin sets a new team best for the Bulldogs this season.

Quitman's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-4. As for Mt. Vernon-Enola, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Quitman will be playing at home against Baptist Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Mt. Vernon-Enola will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bigelow at 4:30 p.m. on April 1st.
