Soccer Game Preview: Lakewood vs. Valor Christian

The Lakewood Tigers will head out to face off against the Valor Christian Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Lakewood's offense. They came up short against Ralston Valley on Tuesday, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, Lakewood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 48th, while Ralston Valley are ranked second).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Valor Christian). They put the hurt on Arvada West with a sharp 5-2 victory on Tuesday. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Valor Christian were the better team in the second half.

They hit Arvada West with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from David Ashouri (2), Noah Foley, Alex Byer, and Nathan Dahlstrom.

Lakewood's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Valor Christian, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-5-3.

Lakewood might still be hurting after the 4-1 defeat they got from Valor Christian in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
