Basketball Game Preview: Onalaska Loggers vs. Rainier Mountaineers

Onalaska and Rainier are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Onalaska Loggers will head out on the road to square off against the Rainier Mountaineers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rainier took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Onalaska, who comes in off a win.

Onalaska will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Toutle Lake, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. Onalaska took down Toutle Lake 52-36 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Loggers.

Meanwhile, Rainier entered their game against Toledo on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Rainier fell 54-47 to Toledo.

Rainier's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4. As for Onalaska, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.

Onalaska was able to grind out a solid win over Rainier in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 53-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Onalaska since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
