Softball Recap: Hedgesville Takes a Loss

Hedgesville lost against Jefferson last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Eagles fell 10-5 to the Cougars. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mayla Ortega was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

Hedgesville's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Jefferson, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 5-0.

Coincidentally, Hedgesville and Jefferson will both be playing Musselman the next time they take the field. The Eagles will host the Applemen at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Cougars will play them later in the day, at 5:00 p.m.
