Piedmont needed a changed in momentum after dropping four straight matches and they got it from Olivia Stevens. The Highlanders came out on top against the Encinal Jets by a score of 3-1 on Thursday for which the team can thank Stevens, who had 19 digs and six assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 13 games she's played.

The victory didn't come easy: Encinal scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 18-25, 25-21, 25-21.

The win got Piedmont back to even at 9-9. As for Encinal, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.

Piedmont will face off against Castro Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Encinal, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against St. Joseph Notre Dame on the 17th.
