Football Game Preview: The Colony Cougars vs. Burleson Elks + How To Watch

Two dominant backs in Kendrick McClodden and Nathan Jackson are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Colony Cougars will head out to take on the Burleson Elks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Colony has given up an average of 37.8 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when The Colony challenged Mansfield Summit on Friday. The Cougars received a blow as they fell 34-17 to the Jaguars. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while the Jaguars are ranked 100th).

Meanwhile, Burleson played in-conference for the first time on Friday and got just the result they were looking for. Everything went their way against Grapevine as they made off with a 36-12 victory. Considering the Elks have won three games by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Burleson now has a winning record of 3-2. As for The Colony, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

The Colony couldn't quite finish off Burleson in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 and fell 10-7. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Elks' Andrew Sparks, who rushed for 224 yards and one TD while picking up 10.2 yards per carry. Now that the Cougars know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
