Basketball Game Preview: Prairie View Thunderhawks vs. Monarch Coyotes

The Prairie View Thunderhawks will square off against the Monarch Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Prairie View has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 17.

Prairie View is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They fell to Northglenn 49-44.

The losing side was boosted by Elizabeth Scaff, who posted 34 points.

Meanwhile, Monarch humbled Skyline with a 53-15 victory. The game marked the Coyotes' most dominant win of the season.

Monarch pushed their record up to 7-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.2 points per game. As for Prairie View, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-14.

Prairie View took a serious blow against Monarch when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 69-34. Can Prairie View avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
